If you don’t secure kills as Reyna, and collect Soul Orbs, you’re not making any use of her abilities at all - meaning you’re effectively useless. You need to be confident, take point for your team and win fights to truly succeed as this agent.
How to play Reyna
Leer [C] (200 Credits) Equip an ethereal, destructible eye. Activate to cast the eye a short distance forward. The eye will Nearsight all enemies who look at it. Nearsight means that any enemies near the orb will have their vision obscured until the orb disappears, or they destroy it with three bullets. This is easily one of Reyna’s most effective abilities, and one which you should purchase as often as possible. One thing to note, it can pass through walls, which makes it great for engaging onto a site, helping allies or yourself peek, and nearsighting enemies from angles they aren’t expecting. We’ve found it’s also pretty useful if you want to bait out an enemy position. Chuck it round a corner or through an entrance if you’re unsure where someone is, and they’ll likely give away their position by shooting it. Just one thing to bear in mind when you’re using this ability - you’re giving away your position, and signalling you may push. With this in mind, try to be unpredictable when throwing out your orb. If you simply chuck it out and peek every single time, the enemy is quickly going to catch on to your strategy. Try and delay your peeks, or don’t even peek at all to keep the enemy guessing. Soul Harvest [Passive] Enemies killed by Reyna leave behind Soul Orbs that last 3 seconds. As these orbs only stick around for three seconds, you’ll need to make some quick decisions. More often than not, though, you’ll want to harvest these orbs as there’s no real reason not to. Devour [Q] (100 Credits) Devour: Instantly consume a nearby soul orb, rapidly healing for a short duration. Health gained through this skill exceeding 100 will decay over time. If Empress is active, this skill will automatically cast and not consume the Soul Orb. This ability is pretty self explanatory, and we’ve found it’s great for topping yourself up after a quick duel. Just be careful if you’re certain another enemy is just around the corner as you don’t want to be caught in the harvest animation when they do so. Also, it’s worth bearing in mind that you can’t activate this ability and run off immediately. You’ll actually need to stay within line of sight of the orb in order to heal up. If you break this line of sight, the healing will stop. With Empress active, this ability will automatically pop, making it supremely useful if you’re attempting a solo push or clutching it up. Dismiss [E] (100 Credits) Instantly consume a nearby Soul Orb, becoming intangible for a short duration. If Empress is active, also become invisible. We’ve found this to be a great repositioning tool, as you’re essentially invulnerable in this ‘intangible’ state. Of course, you won’t be able to shoot, but it’s fantastic for falling back into cover if you’re under fire. It’s also not a bad idea to activate this ability to bridge a gap and push aggressively if you spot a quick opportunity, but be aware that it takes some time to whip out your weapon after this ability ends - make sure you’ve got just enough time to retaliate. With Empress active, it becomes a far more versatile ability. As you’ll go invisible, you can use it to surprise enemies by positioning yourself in unexpected spots, gathering valuable information without anyone knowing, and slinking away after a duel without fear of getting tagged. Instantly enter a frenzy, increasing firing, equip, and reload speed dramatically. Gain infinite charges of Soul Harvest abilities. Scoring a kill renews the duration. In general, this is worth popping if you know you’re about to get into a fight. As you begin securing kills, make sure you’re using your abilities as they’ll activate quickly and provide unique bonuses too.
